I'm Drew Elvins, photographer and owner of Lingering Image Portrait Art Studio.

I've spent more than 30 years behind a camera, learning that the most meaningful portraits rarely come from simply asking someone to pose and smile.

They come from trust.

From taking the time to understand who is standing in front of the camera. From creating an environment where you can relax, be yourself, and allow something genuine to come through.

That's what I want every Lingering Image experience to feel like.

Personal. Guided. Unhurried.

My approach to portraiture has evolved over the years, but one thing has remained constant: I'm interested in photographs that make you feel something.

Whether we're creating a classic portrait, an editorial image, a family heirloom, a professional portrait, or something deeply personal, the goal is never simply to document what you look like.

It's to create an image that feels like you.

And I believe those images deserve more than a place on a screen.

The photographs we create are meant to be printed, held, displayed and passed down—artwork that can continue to mean something long after the session is over.

After more than three decades in Vancouver, I've returned to my hometown of Kingston, Ontario, bringing that experience with me and beginning a new chapter with Lingering Image.
